1. Summary

Space Drift is a single-player arcade game. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no profiles and no social features. We — Byte Patterns — operate no server of our own and receive nothing that identifies you by name, email address or account.

The game does three things that involve data:

If you are in a region with consent laws (the European Economic Area, the UK, Switzerland, and certain US states), the game asks for your choices before any ad is requested and before any gameplay statistic is recorded, using Google's User Messaging Platform. You can change those choices at any time from privacy options in the main menu. Crash and diagnostic reporting is the one exception — see §3.3.

2. What the app stores on your device

Saved locally in the app's private storage on your device — Android app-private storage or the iOS app sandbox (Unity PlayerPrefs). This data is not transmitted anywhere, is not backed up to us, and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

None of these identify you. Byte Patterns creates no user ID, no device fingerprint and no account of any kind. Separately from the table above, the Unity Analytics SDK keeps its own installation identifier on the device and sends it with the data described in §3.3. That identifier is pseudonymous: it is not your name, your account or your advertising ID, but it is persistent, and Unity holds it.

3. Data collected by third parties

We embed third-party SDKs. For the data those companies collect for their own purposes, they act as independent controllers, under their own privacy policies, and we do not receive it in identifiable form.

There is one exception, and it runs the other way: the custom gameplay events listed in §3.3 exist because we ask for them, so for those Unity acts as our service provider (processor) and reports them back to us in aggregate. Unity remains an independent controller for everything its own SDKs collect for Unity's purposes.

3.1 Google AdMob (rewarded video ads)

3.2 Google User Messaging Platform (consent)

3.3 Unity (game engine)

4. Watch versions (Apple Watch and Wear OS)

Space Drift also ships as a small companion game for Apple Watch (bundled inside the iOS app) and for Wear OS (the same Play Store listing). Both are fully offline:

5. What we do not do

6. Permissions the app requests

7. Your choices and rights

Consent (EEA / UK / Switzerland / regulated US states). The consent form appears before any ad is loaded and before any gameplay statistic is recorded. You may accept, refuse, or configure individual purposes. To change your mind later, open the main menu and tap privacy options; withdrawing consent there stops analytics collection as well as advertising. That button only appears where the consent framework applies to you. Crash and diagnostic reporting is not tied to this choice (§3.3).

Refusing consent does not lock you out. The whole game is playable without ads; you simply do not receive the optional ad rewards.

Advertising ID. Reset or delete it in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads; on iOS, Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Deletion. Everything the app stores on your device is deleted permanently by uninstalling Space Drift (on iOS, deleting the app), or on Android by using Settings → Apps → Space Drift → Storage → Clear data. That does not reach the analytics and diagnostic data already sent to Unity: that is held by Unity, keyed to the installation identifier in §3.3, and is subject to Unity's own deletion process rather than ours. Use the request routes in the Unity Privacy Policy and Unity's data collection notice, or write to us at the address in §11 and we will point you at the right one. We ourselves operate no server and hold no copy that we could look you up in.

GDPR / UK GDPR. Where the GDPR applies, Byte Patterns' legal basis for the local save data is legitimate interest in making the game work; the legal basis for advertising and analytics data is your consent, collected through the consent form. Crash and diagnostic reports are not tied to that consent choice (§3.3). For the custom gameplay events in §3.3 we are the controller and Unity is our processor; for the data Google and Unity collect for their own purposes they are independent controllers, and you may exercise your rights — access, rectification, erasure, objection, portability — directly with them under their policies linked above, or contact us and we will point you to the right process.

CCPA / US state privacy laws. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising other than through the advertising described above, and where a "do not sell or share" signal applies, the consent framework in §3.2 carries it to our ad partners. You may contact us at the address below.

8. Children

Space Drift is not directed at children and is not listed in a Play Store family programme or the App Store Kids category. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). The app does not request an age and does not tag ad requests as directed to children. If you believe a child has provided information through this app, contact us and we will act on it.

9. Security

Everything the app saves is held in the app's private storage on your device (Android app-private storage, iOS app sandbox), which other apps cannot read. All network traffic is sent over HTTPS/TLS — to the advertising and consent services by the Google SDKs, and to the analytics and diagnostics endpoints by the Unity SDKs.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially — as it did when Unity Analytics and crash reporting were switched on — we will update the effective date above and publish the new version at the same URL before the change ships.
