Question 1 · choose 1

A page has a chart and a table in the same spot, and two buttons should switch between them. Readers often set slicers first, and switching views must not reset those slicer selections. Only the chart and table should be affected. How should you configure the two bookmarks?

  1. AKeep Data and Display selected, and apply them to All visuals on the page for consistency
  2. BClear Display, keep Data, and apply them to Selected visuals
  3. CKeep Current page only, and clear both Data and Display
  4. DClear Data, apply to Selected visuals, and set visibility in the Selection pane
Show the answer and why
  • AKeep Data and Display selected, and apply them to All visuals on the page for consistency

    Incorrect

Data captures filter and slicer states, so switching views resets readers' selections.

  • BClear Display, keep Data, and apply them to Selected visuals

    Incorrect

Display is what captures visibility, so without it the bookmarks can't switch visuals.

  • CKeep Current page only, and clear both Data and Display

    Incorrect

With both cleared, the bookmarks don't change visibility or anything else on the page.

  • DClear Data, apply to Selected visuals, and set visibility in the Selection pane

    Correct

The bookmarks then change only which of the two visuals is visible, leaving slicers and filters as readers set them.

A bookmark can capture Data (filters and slicer states), Display (visibility and spotlight) and Current page, and can apply to All visuals or Selected visuals. When bookmarks switch between views of visuals, guidance suggests turning off Data so that filters aren't reset; visibility comes from the Selection pane.

Question 2 · choose 1

When readers hover over a product in a bar chart, they should see a small panel with a monthly trend chart and two cards for that product, instead of the default list of values. What should you create?

  1. AA bookmark for each product, triggered from the bar chart
  2. BA drillthrough page that uses the product as its drillthrough field instead
  3. CA report page set as a tooltip, with the product in its Tooltip fields
  4. DA visual-level filter on the bar chart for the selected product
Show the answer and why
  • AA bookmark for each product, triggered from the bar chart

    Incorrect

Bookmarks capture report states and run on selection; they don't appear on hover.

  • BA drillthrough page that uses the product as its drillthrough field instead

    Incorrect

Drillthrough opens a separate page when readers choose to drill, not when they hover.

  • CA report page set as a tooltip, with the product in its Tooltip fields

    Correct

A tooltip page shows its own visuals, filtered to the data point under the pointer.

  • DA visual-level filter on the bar chart for the selected product

    Incorrect

Filters change the chart's data; they don't add a hover panel.

Report tooltips are report pages that appear when readers hover over visuals. Create a page, set its canvas size to the Tooltip template, turn on Tooltip in the Page information card, and add fields to Tooltip fields; the tooltip appears for visuals that use those fields, filtered to the hovered data point.

Question 3 · choose 1

A DirectQuery report shows warehouse queues and must refresh its page every 5 minutes. In Power BI Desktop it works, but after publishing to a Pro workspace in shared capacity, the page refreshes only every 30 minutes. The organization has an F16 capacity whose admin allows page refresh intervals down to one minute. What should you do?

  1. AAsk a Power BI admin to lower the minimum interval for the shared workspace's capacity
  2. BSwitch the model to Import and schedule a refresh every 5 minutes
  3. CSet the interval to 1 second in Power BI Desktop and publish the report again
  4. DMove the report and model to a workspace on the F16 capacity
Show the answer and why
  • AAsk a Power BI admin to lower the minimum interval for the shared workspace's capacity

    Incorrect

Shared capacity has a fixed 30-minute minimum that admins can't override.

  • BSwitch the model to Import and schedule a refresh every 5 minutes

    Incorrect

Scheduled refresh can't run every 5 minutes on any license.

  • CSet the interval to 1 second in Power BI Desktop and publish the report again

    Incorrect

Shared capacity still enforces its 30-minute minimum.

  • DMove the report and model to a workspace on the F16 capacity

    Correct

On dedicated capacity, the capacity admin's minimum applies instead of shared capacity's 30 minutes, so 5 minutes is honored.

In shared capacity (Pro), the minimum fixed interval is 30 minutes, with no admin override. In dedicated capacity (Fabric F, Premium P and PPU), the capacity admin turns the feature on or off and sets its minimum interval.

Question 4 · choose 1

On a page, selecting a region in a bar chart should filter the line chart below it, while the company-wide KPI card at the top must keep showing the total. How should you set this up?

  1. AUse Edit interactions: Filter on the line chart, None on the card
  2. BAdd a visual-level filter on Region to the KPI card
  3. CUse Sync slicers between the bar chart and the line chart on the page
  4. DLock the KPI card in the Filters pane
Show the answer and why
  • AUse Edit interactions: Filter on the line chart, None on the card

    Correct

Interactions are set per visual pair, so the card can ignore the bar chart's selection.

  • BAdd a visual-level filter on Region to the KPI card

    Incorrect

A filter on the card doesn't stop the bar chart from cross-filtering it.

  • CUse Sync slicers between the bar chart and the line chart on the page

    Incorrect

Sync slicers works with slicers, not with a bar chart's selections.

  • DLock the KPI card in the Filters pane

    Incorrect

Locking prevents readers from editing a filter; it doesn't change cross-filtering.

By default, visuals on a page cross-filter and cross-highlight each other. With Edit interactions (Format > Edit interactions in Desktop), you select a visual and then choose, for each other visual, whether it's filtered, highlighted or not affected (None).

Question 5 · choose 1

Readers want to swap fields and visual types on most pages of a sales report without editing it, but the Regulatory page must look the same for everyone. How should you configure the report?

  1. AGive readers the Contributor role so they can edit the other pages
  2. BAdd field parameters to every visual except those on the Regulatory page
  3. CTurn on Personalize visuals, then turn it off for the Regulatory page
  4. DTurn on Personalize visuals in report settings and lock the Regulatory page's filters
Show the answer and why
  • AGive readers the Contributor role so they can edit the other pages

    Incorrect

Contributors can edit the report itself, which changes it for everyone.

  • BAdd field parameters to every visual except those on the Regulatory page

    Incorrect

Field parameters don't let readers change visual types, and they'd be needed on every visual.

  • CTurn on Personalize visuals, then turn it off for the Regulatory page

    Correct

The report-level setting enables personalization, and it can be switched off per page or per visual.

  • DTurn on Personalize visuals in report settings and lock the Regulatory page's filters

    Incorrect

Locking filters doesn't stop readers from personalizing that page's visuals.

Personalize visuals lets report readers change a visual's axis, type, tooltip fields and similar settings for their own view, without edit permission. You enable it in the report settings (in Desktop, File > Options and settings > Options > Current file > Report settings), and you can turn it off per page or per visual.

Question 6 · choose 1

A report reader in the Power BI service wants to save her filter selections so she can return to them later, without changing the report for anyone else. What can she use?

  1. AA report bookmark
  2. BA drillthrough page
  3. CA tooltip page
  4. DA personal bookmark
Show the answer and why
  • AA report bookmark

    Incorrect

Report bookmarks are created by authors and seen by every reader.

  • BA drillthrough page

    Incorrect

Drillthrough pages are designed by authors for detail navigation.

  • CA tooltip page

    Incorrect

Tooltip pages appear on hover; they don't save selections.

  • DA personal bookmark

    Correct

Anyone viewing a report in the service can create personal bookmarks for their own use.

There are two types of bookmarks: report bookmarks, which authors add for all readers, and personal bookmarks, which anyone viewing a report in the Power BI service can create to save their own view.

Question 7 · choose 1

When you add a field to a page's drillthrough fields, what does Power BI add to the page so readers can return to where they came from?

  1. AA Back button
  2. BA page navigator
  3. CA bookmark
  4. DA slicer for the drillthrough field
Show the answer and why
  • AA Back button

    Correct

Power BI automatically adds a back button to a drillthrough page.

  • BA page navigator

    Incorrect

A page navigator is added only if you insert one.

  • CA bookmark

    Incorrect

Bookmarks are created by the author when needed.

  • DA slicer for the drillthrough field

    Incorrect

The drillthrough field filters the page without a slicer.

After you add a drillthrough field to a page, Power BI automatically adds a back button, which returns readers to the page they drilled from.

Question 8 · choose 1

A table visual lists customers with Region and Revenue columns. Readers want it sorted by Region and, within each region, by Revenue. How do they add Revenue as the second sort?

  1. ASelect the Region header, then select the Revenue header
  2. BSort by Region, then sort by Revenue from More options
  3. CSelect the Region header, then hold Shift and select the Revenue header
  4. DSelect the Revenue header twice to sort within each region
Show the answer and why
  • ASelect the Region header, then select the Revenue header

    Incorrect

A plain selection of another header replaces the sort instead of adding to it.

  • BSort by Region, then sort by Revenue from More options

    Incorrect

Choosing a new sort field from the menu replaces the previous sort.

  • CSelect the Region header, then hold Shift and select the Revenue header

    Correct

Shift adds the selected column to the sort order after Region.

  • DSelect the Revenue header twice to sort within each region

    Incorrect

Selecting the same header again only reverses its own sort direction.

Table visuals can sort by several columns in sequence: select the first column header, then hold Shift while selecting the next one to add it to the sort order. Shift-selecting a column already in the order again changes its direction, and a header selected without Shift starts a new single-column sort.

Question 9 · choose 1

You can't find the Page refresh card in the Format pane for a report page. The model imports all its data. Why?

  1. AAutomatic page refresh must first be enabled for the model in Model view settings
  2. BThe page must be set as a tooltip page
  3. CThe report must first be published to the service
  4. DAutomatic page refresh isn't supported for Import mode
Show the answer and why
  • AAutomatic page refresh must first be enabled for the model in Model view settings

    Incorrect

There's no model setting that reveals the card for import models.

  • BThe page must be set as a tooltip page

    Incorrect

Tooltip pages are for hover panels, not page refresh.

  • CThe report must first be published to the service

    Incorrect

The card appears in Power BI Desktop when the source is DirectQuery.

  • DAutomatic page refresh isn't supported for Import mode

    Correct

The Page refresh card appears only when the report is connected to a supported source, such as DirectQuery, and Import isn't one.

Automatic page refresh works only with supported data sources, such as DirectQuery. If the report uses Import mode, the Page refresh option isn't available.
